713 Music Hall
Biography & Highlights
You pull up to POST Houston on Franklin Street and join the massive crowd snaking toward the security scanners. Big room. Really big room. Security checks tickets fast, but the line outside tests your patience if you show up late. Once you scan past the doors, you are inside a massive multi-level concert hall built right into the old post office.
Concrete floors and exposed industrial beams give the whole place an edgy feel. Sound travels great from the stage, bouncing off the metal infrastructure while you push through the floor crowd toward the bar rails. Drinks cost a fortune, and bartenders pour fast to keep up with the massive waves of people rushing between support acts.
Upstairs tiers give you a different view if you hate standing in the crush down below. Lights flash across thousands of faces while the bass rattles your chest from the back wall. You lose your friends by the second song and just watch the stage glow.
